Luxembourg based Compagnie Luxembourgouise de Navigation (CLdN) which is predominately a ro-ro freight operator, has recently announced a further enhancement of its Irish service.
This will involve allocating an additional Lo-Lo (load-on / load-off) sailing to its Rotterdam-Dublin route, and as Afloat reported earlier this year, CLdN opened a new Rotterdam-Cork route, also running Lo-Lo operations.
The new Rotterdam-Dublin service means that customers of the European short-sea operator will now have three direct LoLo as well as three direct RoRo departures per week from both the Dutch port and the Irish capital.
CLdN is the only operator providing this level of service between mainland Europe and Ireland.
The additional LoLo service was deployed late last month using CLdN’s Distriport terminal in Rotterdam. With this service, 22 is the new number of weekly sailings between Ireland and CLdN’s main continental hubs of Rotterdam and Zeebrugge in Belgium.
