kiAn Albin Express with an extensive racing record has sold within a week and is set to join the fleet in Cork Harbour.

Apache, listed at €8,950, drew immediate interest due to its condition and competitive pedigree. The seller described the boat as “ready to sail and ready to race” and said it carried “very good North Sails” and a 2025 endorsed IRC certificate.

The boat is fitted with Nautix A4 Speed antifouling and sleeps four. The seller noted it had produced “the best results of any cruiser racer consistently for the last three years in Kinsale and Cork.”

Apache’s results include the 2025 Irish Cruiser Racing Association National Championship title. It won the March League, Spring League, and Mid-Week Series in both white sail and spinnaker divisions from 2023 to 2025, along with multiple Autumn League victories.

The boat was named Kinsale Yacht Club Boat of the Year in 2023 and 2024 and secured the SCORA Boat of the Year title in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Its 2025 season began strongly with wins at the ICRA Nationals, Frank Godsell March League, Axiom Private Clients Spring League, La Bougie Mid-Week Series 1, Anthony J O’Brien White Sails Series 1, Ryan Civil Engineering Mid-Week Series 2, Denis and Mary Ryan Car Sales White Sails Series 2, Mid-Week Series 3, and the Perry Know Gore All In Trophy.

Local sources say seller Alan Mulcahy will race with the new owners for the remainder of the Royal Cork Yacht Club winter league. The sale brings the number of Albin Express designs racing from the club to three, with Fiona Young’s North Star and Barry Rose’s Obsession already active in the harbour.
