A well-known Cork Harbour and Kinsale racer has come onto the market with an asking price of €5,950.

Bandit, a Modified Bolero Quarter Tonner designed by David Thomas and built by Nick Stratton Yachts Ltd, is currently for sale through Crosshaven Boatyard in County Cork.

The 25ft 6in yacht has built a strong reputation on the local racing scene. The navy-blue fin-keeler has competed successfully in club and league racing and has been under the same ownership for the past decade.

The current owner has carried out a series of upgrades during that period. These include a new mast and standing rigging in 2012, updated deck gear in 2021, and replacement halyards, sheets and control lines.

Bandit's sail wardrobe includes a 2017 UK McWilliam mainsail, a 2021 North Sails No.1 genoa, a UK McWilliam No.3 genoa and two spinnakers.

The yacht is stripped out for racing but retains four single berths with cushions and basic interior fittings. A 2.5hp Tohatsu outboard engine is included in the sale.

Additional equipment includes a carbon-fibre spinnaker pole and a four-wheel galvanised yard trailer.

Bandit has been ashore at Castle Point Boatyard in Crosshaven since 2022 and is offered as a ready-made entry into local club racing, Quarter Ton competition or harbour regattas.

The sale comes as interest in Ireland's classic Quarter Ton fleet continues to grow ahead of Cork Week 2026, with several restored and revived designs returning to competitive racing around the country. According to the broker, the yacht represents "an excellent opportunity to purchase a racing boat at a very affordable price".

The 1981-built yacht has a displacement of 1,270kg, a beam of 2.74m and a draft of 1.4m.
