Shannon Foynes Port Company, as the Pilotage Authority for the Shannon Estuary, is seeking applications from suitable candidates to fill a vacancy that has arisen in the Pilotage Service.
Candidates must possess the following in-date qualifications:
- Certificate of Competency as Chief Officer or Master unlimited, (No GT or area restrictions) as prescribed in the STCW 1978 (as amended) regulations
- Valid seafarer medical certificate (ENG11)
- Bridge Team Management
- An ECDIS programme based on the IMO Model ECDIS course (1.27) approved by the Irish Maritime Administration, or
- An ECDIS programme based on the IMO Model ECDIS course (1.27) approved by the Maritime Administration of an EU Member State or by a country which is recognised by Ireland under STCW 78, as amended, Regulation I/10
- Be a citizen of the European Union and fluent in English
- Have a full driver’s license
The ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced ship-handler or have previous pilotage experience
- Familiar with working within a formal Risk Management environment
- Have served in a Master’s appointment
