The dollar fall means now is the time to buy new sails. Quantum Sails Ireland will match the approximate 10% dollar fall with a similar additional 10% discount.

With the new season now upon us, whether you are looking at events like Scottish Series, D2D, Sovereigns Cup, or you are just planning on cruising, now is the best time to purchase new sails.

Since the start of January, the Dollar has fallen by nearly 10% compared to the Euro. Like nearly all major sailmakers, including Quantum Sails, price their sails in dollars, which means the base Euro price has also decreased by approximately 10%. Quantum Sails Ireland will now also match that 10% reduction by adding a further 10% discount on all new sails ordered before the end of May.

With an approximately six-week delivery time from an order, it is still possible to provide sails for events such as D2D and the Sovereign's Cup if ordered immediately.

So, if for D2D you were considering some new storm sails, such as an OSR-compliant heavy weather jib, an offshore flying jib, or perhaps a new Code 0, there is still time. See our article a few weeks ago on the IRC rule changes that affect sail numbers and other areas here

Alternatively, you might want to replace that baggy old cruising main or furling headsail with a smart new set. Now is the time to avail of these discounts and get cruising in style for the season.

For a quote or advice, contact Mark Mansfield or Yannick Lemonnier on the numbers below to take advantage of these discounts.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
