Boaters know the problem well. Many “waterproof” gloves are bulky rubber shells or rely on coatings that wear off over time. Cross Point Gear says it has developed an alternative.
The American company has introduced a fully waterproof glove designed to offer dexterity without using PFAS chemicals. The glove uses a three-layer construction intended to keep hands dry even when submerged. Unlike DWR-treated gloves that can eventually “wet out”, the design incorporates a waterproof membrane to block water penetration.
Grip is another focus. A silicone pattern on the palm aims to improve handling of wet ropes, deck gear and touchscreen devices.
The company also highlights sustainability. The gloves are manufactured without PFAS, the so-called “forever chemicals” increasingly restricted in outdoor equipment. Breathability is addressed through a microporous membrane. This allows moisture and sweat to escape while maintaining waterproof performance.
Cross Point Gear says the design targets boaters and other outdoor users who need protection from spray and immersion without sacrificing hand movement.
