Images ranging from basking sharks to orca whales to other aspects of Irish marine life will be shown by underwater photographer Nigel Motyer at a talk in the Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club (DMYC) on Thursday (Jan 16).
Motyer has undertaken extensive marine photography work from the Arctic to the Tropics.
In an interview with Afloat last year, he recalled how his fascination for marine life began at the age of eight when he begged his parents to take him to see a 1971 documentary on sharks, entitled Blue Water, White Death, directed by Peter Gimbel and James Lipscomb.
“An Odyssey of Underwater Photography” takes place in the DMYC as part of its Thursday evening talk series, starting at 8pm.
Admission is free to all DMYC members, family and friends. More here
