Rosslare Harbour RNLI welcomed Allan and Helen this week as the pair continued their ambitious fundraising challenge to visit every RNLI lifeboat station across the UK and Ireland.
The “238 Challenge” began at Teddington on 1 June 2024 to mark the RNLI’s 200th anniversary year.
Rosslare Harbour marked the penultimate stop on their journey before the final call at Poole later this month. The pair plan to arrive there at exactly 2.38 pm in tribute to the 238 stations visited.
Their tour of Ireland began on 26 April at nearby Kilmore Quay RNLI. Over 21 days, they visited all 46 lifeboat stations around the island.
During their stop in Rosslare Harbour, Allan and Helen met volunteer crew members in the station boathouse, where stories and experiences were exchanged.
Rosslare Harbour RNLI described the visit as “an absolute pleasure” and praised the pair for their commitment and enthusiasm.
More than £4,000 has been raised so far through the fundraising campaign in support of the RNLI, the donation box can be found on their website here.
