The World ARC 2025–26 fleet has completed its global circumnavigation cruise, arriving in Saint Lucia after a 15-month voyage. Sailors covered 26,000 nautical miles, visiting more than 25 destinations across 18 countries. A total of 35 boats took part, with 20 completing the full circumnavigation. Others cruised sections of the route. Crews gathered at IGY Rodney Bay Marina following a Parade of Sail to mark the finish.
Alison Farmer, sailing aboard Walrus, said the moment brought mixed emotions. “The primary emotion was a sense of pride in the team and the boat,” she said. “It’s been 462 days, and we’ve crossed three oceans,” she added. “There were so many special moments, from Pacific night watches to meeting people around the world.”
Participants highlighted the value of the rally’s community support. “You cannot underestimate how doing this as part of a community helps,” Farmer said. Celebrations included a rendezvous at Marigot Bay, a sunset dinner cruise, and a final prizegiving ceremony.
Jan Weustink, skipper of Mulan, said camaraderie stood out. “We only have good people. They are the best people in the world,” he said.
The final prizegiving recognised each boat’s contribution, alongside individual milestones and achievements. Eight young sailors completed the full voyage and were recognised as ‘Junior Explorers’.
World Cruising Club Managing Director Paul Tetlow described the finish as significant. “This voyage often takes years to prepare for, so completing it is a monumental milestone,” he said. He added that participants gain lasting memories and friendships beyond the finish line.
With the rally complete, crews will now disperse globally, though organisers say connections formed at sea are expected to endure.
