In the Volvo Cork Week hosted 1720 European Championship, the defending champion Ross McDonald skippering Rope Dock Atara from Howth has a ten-point lead but discards his sixth place scored in Wednesday's Harbour Race.

Aodhan Fitzgerald’s Galway Bay team, Racing After Midnight, won the 1720 division of the Harbour Race.

Andrew Boyle's Royal Irish Yacht Club No Show holds second overall on 19 points but was one of eight in the fleet that did not compete in the Harbour fixture, according to provisional results (below)

Likewise, Michael O'Sullivan's Dutch Gold did not compete on Wednesday and lies third overall, just a point behind Boyle.

Racing continues on Thursday.
