The standings in the Nations Cup after Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta and before this weekend's Northern Ireland IRC Championships on Belfast Lough show England with an unassailable lead.

The overall Irish Sea Nations' Cup will be awarded at Royal Ulster Yacht Club on Sunday after the Northern Ireland IRC Championships.

The Irish Sea Nations' Cup comprises four regattas, with points awarded to the best-scoring boat from each country and bonus points to the country with the best visitor-to-boat ratio.

About the Irish Sea Nation’s Cup

Four regattas in 2025 in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales have combined to develop the Irish Sea Nation’s Cup, fostering goodwill and encouraging regatta participation by visiting yachts.

The regattas are:

  • May 2-4 IRC Welsh Championships
  • May 23-26 Scottish Series
  • July 10-13 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta
  • July 19-20 Northern Ireland IRC Championship

After all four regattas, the winning nation will be awarded the Irish Sea Nation’s Cup.

Each nation will be ranked in order depending on the performance of the best keelboat of that nation at the regatta. Bonus points will be awarded to the Nation with the best percentage of visiting boats,
