The Royal Irish Yacht Club has announced its September 2025 J Cup will incorporate the J109 National Championships and J80 National Championships and be supported by Viking Marine.

The J Cup Ireland 2025 will take place in Dublin Bay from 6–7 September, and alongside the two national championships, there will be J24 and Mixed IRC J Boat racing.

Racing will include six scheduled races over two days for each class, with courses set as Windward-Leeward or Round the Cans.

"After two cracking years in 2023 and 2024, we're bringing the J Cup Ireland back for 2025!" said Irish J boat agents Bill Stringer.

Entries are open until 1 September via the Royal Irish Yacht Club website here, with early bird rates available until 22 August. Late entries may be accepted at the organiser’s discretion.

“The J Cup will bring together some of the best J-boat sailors in Ireland,” said Sailing Services Manager Mark McGibney.

Boats must comply with their respective class rules. No crew weight limits will apply for IRC, J80, or J24 classes.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three boats in each class and for the best-performing boat overall, which will receive the Key Yachting J Cup.

Racing begins at 11:55 on Saturday and 11:25 on Sunday, with the last warning signal no later than 15:00 on the final day.
