Galway Docklands Festival has issued an invitation to participate in this year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, September 20th. The event, run by Galway Hooker Sailing Club, takes place from 11 am to 4 pm at Galway Docks, outside the Galway RNLI Lifeboat Station.
Now in its fifth year, the Galway Docklands Festival celebrates Galway’s rich maritime heritage with a day of activities, demonstrations and entertainment designed to inspire and engage visitors of all ages. With a strong maritime theme, the festival organisers say they offer a “fun-filled family day while showcasing the organisations, businesses and community groups that make Galway’s waterfront so unique”.
This year’s maritime festival is supported by Galway Bay Seafoods and Galway Bay Boat Tours as main partners, with additional support from Galway City Council and Fáilte Ireland. The day-long celebration will also serve as a fundraiser for the Galway RNLI lifeboat.
