Racing Updates: May Bank Holiday Sailing Wrap up!

There's familiar names at the top of the leaderboards after a busy May Bank holiday weekend afloat on Irish waters. Here's the Monday morning wrap up:

The Kinsale Yacht Club Spring Series ended in a gale. We have the pictures, and all the results, class by class.

Ben Duncan and the Sharkbait Crew won the SB3 Easterns in their own backyard but not without a fight.

Vincent Delaney won the Squibs in Kinsale but not before one sank in 30 knots. See the Photos.

Matt Davis won again in the first ISORA race to Holyhead. The crew of the Irish entry Derry-Londonderry in the forthcoming Clipper Round the World race was named in Southampton. They sail under Mark Light, a skipper who has Mayo roots.

There were 500 boats afloat in Dun Laoghaire and 240 aim to go afloat again this morning. Colin Byrne topped the DBSC fleet in class one on Saturday while in the northwest of Dublin Bay the fight for a place on the Youth Worlds team continues in even stronger winds today in five classes at the Mistubishi Youth Nationals.

Afloat's sailor of the month for April is Asgard Skipper Colm Newport.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
