The first finisher in the SSE Renewables Round Ireland Race 2024, Adam Davis's 19m trimaran Paradox from the Helford River Sailing Club in the heart of South Cornwall, crossed the finish line at the Wicklow pierheads this afternoon at 1611 hrs to record a circuit of three days and two hours. This time doesn't challenge the exceptional records set in 2016 by the international trio of MOD 70 trimarans, but is a very respectable showing for a race which is being sailed through some decidedly peculiar wind patterns.
Monohull leader Teasing Machine, the NYMD 54 campaigned by France's Eric de Turckheim, in on track with a fair tide to also finish this evening.
