Entries for the Round Ireland Yacht Race have reached 32, with three Sun Fast 3300 sisterships now confirmed for the 704-nautical-mile contest.
The growing class sets up a competitive sub-battle within the fleet, with double-handed crews expected to challenge strongly on overall standings.
The latest addition joins Cinnamon Girl, raced by Cian McCarthy and Sam Hunt, alongside Paradox (Tom Murphy and Ronan Considine, winner of the recent Dubai to Muscat Race, with Sky Business – Game On (Ian Hoddle and Willow Bland) now making it three.
Kinsale Yacht Club’s McCarthy and Hunt are among the standout contenders finishing second in both 2022 and 2024 to the larger Sunfast 3600 Bellino of Rob Craigie and Deb Fish, who are entered again.
McCarthy and Hunt's offshore record includes fourth overall and first Corinthian in the double-handed division of the 2023 Sydney Hobart Race, second overall in the 2023 Dun Laoghaire-Dingle Race, and victory in the 2022 Inistearaght Race.
The Sun Fast 3300 class has built a reputation for high-performance double-handed racing, often competing above its rating in mixed fleets.
