The British and Irish sailing calendars are so crowded that it's wise to jump in early, and the Clyde Cruising Club in Scotland has done this by setting the dates for the Scottish Series eight months ahead.
Tarbert in Loch Fyne on the Scottish west coast will again be the hub for the event from 23rd to 26th May 2025, and Roddy Angus will again be the event chairman.
Roddy says, "The feedback (thanks to those who gave it) on the Jura Scottish Series '24 was generally positive, but the club sees room for improvement and further innovation next year.
"One innovation at the JSS24 that we know you loved was using robotic marks – this will be repeated."
He is setting a new challenge: "Gather in numbers! We assembled three good fleets this year and plan the same for JSS25. I'm determined that the numbers will grow to improve class splits and keep the start lines busy. Get the dates in the diary now and register your interest on the website—buttons on every page."
As there is no clash with Howth's Wave Regatta in Dublin next year, it is hoped that more boats from all over Ireland will compete. And, Roddy asks, "what about boats from Wales or north of Crinan?"
