North Down Museum hosts launch of Ballyholme boat building exhibition opened by Mayor Gillian McCollum on 10 February 2026

A new exhibition celebrating the boat-building heritage of Ballyholme will launch at North Down Museum in Bangor, Co. Down, in February.

Running from 7 pm to 9 pm, the event will be officially opened by the Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, on February 10th.

The exhibition explores the craftsmanship and maritime culture that shaped the coastal community of Ballyholme on Belfast Lough.

Hosted at the historic Castle site, the display aims to shed light on the local traditions of boat-making and their significance to the region.

Launch attendance is by invitation only.
