Department of Rural and Community Development has opened a new call for applications under the Community Services Programme (CSP). The announcement was made by Jerry Buttimer in Cork on 30 March 2026 at the Meitheal Mara boatyard and workshop. The programme supports more than 420 community organisations delivering services and employment in disadvantaged areas.

Speaking at Meitheal Mara, the Minister said: “The CSP Programme is designed to deliver employment opportunities to disadvantaged areas and empower community organisations.”

The scheme is now open to new entrants, fulfilling a Programme for Government commitment. Funding will support organisations that provide local services and create jobs aligned with social needs.

“The CSP Programme plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life for disadvantaged groups,” Buttimer said. “This Open Call will expand those supports.”

Applications will be managed by Pobal, with a preliminary submission deadline of 8 May 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit full proposals by 28 August 2026. Information events for applicants are scheduled for the week beginning 27 July.

Meitheal Mara Chairperson Marianne Keane said the programme “has been central to everything we do, supporting jobs, skills and inclusion.”
