SCORA, the South Coast Offshore Racing Association, says the "K2Q 2024 " Kingstown (Dun Laoghaire) to Queenstown (Cobh) Race, run with ISORA, will start from Dublin on Friday Week, July 12, with FG at 11.a.m.

"Sailing instructions are being finalised and will be uploaded shortly, but the Course shall be simple, a couple of marks to get out of Dublin Bay then a straight shot to Cork finish in Cork Harbour where you will be met with beer," says SCORA Commodore Daragh Connolly.

"This is a joint SCORA/ISORA race and we will be using trackers for following the race and safety features. There are 20 entries presently, including three South Coast boats with very tidy crews aboard. This is looking like a very tasty race," Connolly says.

Five Welsh boats are entered, and although Connolly says the list below is 'unconfirmed', there are several entrants from June's Round Ireland, including the ISORA series leader, the JPK 1030, Cochin from Belfast Lough all in the line up.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
