ISORA's 50-mile coastal course for Saturday's Dun Laoghaire to Arklow race will feature the 2023 ISORA champion Rockabill VI, skippered by Paul Higgins of the Royal Irish Yacht Club.

All classes will start at 08.00 from the usual Dun Laoghaire start off the West Pier Outfall buoy.

The race is the 12th in ISORA's 2024 Musto Offshore Series.

Following the race, Rockabill VI – a Round Ireland Race class winner last month  – will position to West Cork for the 40th Calves Week Regatta at Schull Harbour Sailing Club from August 6th.

As Afloat reported earlier, Tom Shanahan's victorious J109 Ruth is among a fleet of up to 14 boats preparing which will, unfortunately, be without some of the season's front runners.

The fleet will leave the Muglins on the southern tip of Dublin Bay to starboard (S) and race to the Horseshoe Buoy (S) passing Arklow Outfall (S), Glassgorman 1 (S), Glassgorman 2 (P) to a finish line from due west of the Arklow Outfall buoy.

ISORA organisers say the course may yet be shortened by omitting both Glassgorman marks. With only light southerlies forecast and in the absence of a sea breeze, this may be a possibility.

On Sunday, the Arklow Sailing Club 35-mile “Windmill race” around Arklow Bank will start at 11.00 am and include Rockabill VI and others of the ISORA fleet.
