This month's 2024 K2Q Dublin to Cork race winner is confirmed for next Saturday's ISORA race to Arklow.

Tom Shanahan's victorious J109 Ruth is among a fleet of up to 14 boats preparing for the 50-mile fixture, which will, unfortunately, be without some of the season's front runners.

Among others joining Shanahan will be two Northern Ireland yachts: Ryan Wilson's MAT 1010 Elixir and Alan Hannon's JPK1030 Coquine.

Round Ireland Class Two winner Rockabill VI Paul O'Higgins plans to race, but as the boat is positioning to West Cork to compete in August Calves Week, the decision to race will be weather-dependent.

Keith Miller's Kilmore Quay-based Mills 36-design, Prime Suspect, a competitor in last week's Cork Week regatta, will be racing to Arklow.

The biggest boat in the ISORA fleet, the canting keel 57-foot Opal, is already in West Cork for the Schull Regatta.

Not racing is May's Inistearaght Race champion, Chris Power Smth's Royal St. George J122 Aurelia or last week's overall Cork Week champion, Johnn Treanor's J112e Valentina

The race features the normal ISORA start at 8.00 am start.

On Sunday, the Arklow Sailing Club 35-mile “Windmill race” around Arklow Bank will start at 11.00 am.
