The big Lombard 46 Pata Negra of Andrew and Sam Hall took the size advantage to win line honours and the handicap win in race eight of the ISORA Viking Marine Musto Championships from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead on Saturday.

Two J122 sisterships, Vicky Cox and Peter Dunlop's Pwllheli Sailing Club's Mojito and Chris Power Smith's Aurelia of the Royal St. George Yacht Club, filled the rest of the podium in second and third place, respectively.

A strong turnout saw a 15-boat fleet compete in the seven-hour race in light to medium easterlies of the 2025 Musto Offshore Championships.

Five competed in Class Zero, six in Class One, and four in Class Two.

According to provisional results via the race tracker, Andrew and Sam Hall's Lombard 46 Pata Negra won the line honours. It also took the IRC and Class One overall prizes.

In a strong showing for Welsh boats, they filled the top two of the line honours podium with Mojito second, but Dun Laoghaire's Aurelia clinched third across the Holyhead finish line. These results were reflected in IRC overall and in Class Zero.

IRC One was won by Alan Hannon's JPK 1030, Coquine. Second was Peter Ryan's First 4.0.7 Tsunami. Third was Ryan Wilson's Mat1010, Elixir.

IRC Two was won by Howth J109  Indian (Simon Knowles), with the XP 33 Darling XX in second and Jac Y Do third.

The next ISORA fixture is the 75-mile Pwllheli to Dun Laoghaire cross-channel race on June 7th, just four days before the season highlight of the Volvo Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race on June 11th.
