US Sailing has announced a major leadership shift in its Olympic programme.
Marcus Lynch has stepped down as High Performance Director after two years in the role.
He led Team USA through the 2024 Paris Olympics and helped develop a new Performance Tier system to support athletes.
“Marcus brought exceptional professionalism and strategic clarity,” said US Sailing CEO Charlie Enright.
Lynch also played a key role in shaping the LA28 Olympic selection criteria.
Succeeding him is Olympian Molly Vandemoer, now appointed Director of Olympic Sailing.
Vandemoer, a 2012 Olympic sailor in Women’s Match Racing, brings over a decade of competitive experience and leadership in youth sailing.
Her past roles include Executive Director of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation and member of the US Sailing Board of Directors.
She also serves on World Sailing’s Events Committee and the Sailor Athlete Council.
“Molly’s vision and expertise will be instrumental,” Enright added.
Vandemoer said she is “honoured to join US Sailing” and aims to “build a performance culture that supports excellence and teamwork.”
Her appointment is effective immediately, with Lynch assisting the transition.
US Sailing expressed gratitude for Lynch’s contributions and looks ahead to new growth in Olympic sailing.
