US Sailing has announced Charlie Enright as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment follows a comprehensive search for leadership.

Enright is a well-respected figure in the sailing community. He has a notable track record, including leading the 11th Hour Racing Team to victory in the 2022-23 Ocean Race.

“Charlie offers a wealth of experience,” said Henry Brauer, President of US Sailing. “His commitment to sustainability and growing the sport is invaluable.”

Enright was part of the first American team to win The Ocean Race. He has previously skippered for teams like Team Alvimedica and Vestas 11th Hour Racing.

Enright has received various accolades, including being named Rolex Yachtsman of the Year in 2023. He was inducted into the Brown University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024 for his achievements.

“I’m honoured to take on the role of CEO at US Sailing,” Enright stated. “I look forward to building on our legacy and ensuring sailing remains accessible for all.”

In his new role, Enright will work with the Board of Directors to implement US Sailing’s goals and expand participation in the sport.

“His vision and passion will be invaluable,” said Brian Keane, Acting Chair of the US Sailing Foundation.

Enright hails from Bristol, Rhode Island, where his love for sailing began. He resides in Barrington with his wife, Meris, and their children, Thomas and Maggie.
