Ireland's Finn Lynch must wait for another 24 hours at least to race in his first Olympic medal race with the racing schedule of the Paris 2024 Olympic regatta again disrupted by lack of winds for a second consecutive day this afternoon (Tuesday 6th August 2024).
The National Yacht Club's Lynch, a veteran of the Rio Games, is scheduled to compete in the medal race final for the men's one-person dinghy (ILCA7 class) after climbing into the top ten on Sunday. He is aiming for his best day of the series to improve on his tenth-place overall position.
A provisional time of 12:20 pm Irish Time has been announced for Wednesday, but as always, this depends very much on the conditions locally.
Reserve medal race days are included in the event programme for exactly this eventuality and event organisers have further opportunities on both Wednesday and Thursday.
