The Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit returns in 2026 with its largest fleet to date, featuring 21 international teams competing across five events.
The expanding one-design series builds on momentum from 2025, combining elite racing with professional race management and established Mediterranean venues.
Reigning circuit champion Alessandro Rombelli’s Stig is among the confirmed entries, setting the benchmark for a fleet expected to deliver tightly contested racing throughout the season.
“The 2026 Mediterranean circuit is shaping up to be the biggest and most competitive Cape 31 season we’ve seen so far,” said Cape 31 MED Class Manager Tor Tomlinson Cheney.
“It’s fantastic to see how quickly the fleet is growing in the region, with an incredible lineup of teams joining the circuit,” he added.
The five-event series opens in Porto Cervo at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda from 24–26 April, followed by Marina di Puntaldia (15–17 May), Bonifacio (5–7 June), Scarlino (10–12 July) and Hyères (24–26 September).
Each regatta will include one to two days of training followed by three days of racing, alongside post-race gatherings and crew events.
Race management will be led by Mattias Dahlström, bringing experience from high-performance classes, including the M32 circuit.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Cape 31 Class and to be working with such a strong and growing fleet,” said Dahlström.
“This circuit promises a fantastic level of competition, and I’m very much looking forward to getting started in Porto Cervo,” he said.
An international measurer will oversee compliance with class rules, while Vakaros technology will support race management and performance tracking.
Professional media team Sailing Energy will provide full-season coverage, capturing racing action and fleet developments.
The 2026 entry list includes Adrenaline, Aspire, Black Battalion, Black Pearl, Black Seal, Django, Eker, Firstings, G Spot, Gecko, Halbtrocken, Hatari, K-Force Jr, Kalantis, La Pericolosa, Motions, Shotgunn, Squirt, Stella Maris and defending champion Stig.
Further event details are expected ahead of the April opener.
