The National Yacht Club’s Finn Lynch is now number two in the world in the ILCA 7 class.
Lynch’s bronze-medal performance at Kiel Week last month continued a consistent summer for the 29-year-old Carlow man that has justly pushed him up the rankings, something his club described as “a remarkable achievement”.
“His hard work, dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence are truly paying off,” the NYC added. “We couldn’t be prouder. A true role model for all our young sailors.”
Finn Lynch’s next challenge will be the ILCA European Championships — an event where he won bronze last year — in Marstrand, Sweden from 9–16 August.
