The Irish Multihull Association (IMA) has released its 2025 racing calendar, promising a bumper season. New championship formats have been introduced for added excitement.
The first event will take place at Ballyholme Yacht Club on May 17 and 18. On Saturday, there will be six sprint races. Sunday will return to traditional racing formats. "The sprint format is designed to prepare competitors for the World Championships in Holland later this year," IMA spokesperson Richard Swanston stated.
Lough Derg Yacht Club will host the Western Championships, including the Irish National Dart 16 Championships, on the 25th and 26th of July. This event will feature a 'Raid' across the lough on Saturday, followed by two more races on Sunday. Swords Sailing Club will be the site of the National Open Championships, scheduled for 6th and 7th September.
