With the men's ILCA 7 Worlds in Dublin Bay put to bed with the trophy gone abroad, attention swings to the women's ILCA 6 Worlds at the same venue in a week's time, and Ireland's hopes inevitably focusing to a large extent on Eve McMahon and Sienna Wright.
But meanwhile Eve's cousin Ciara McMahon, also of Howth, has been making hay in the rain down at Lough Ree YC, where an idea inspired by the McMullin and Smith families, together with Ian Croxon and others, has resulted in the Shannon One Design Under-30s Open Championship.
This was a seven-race series in which seasoned Shannoneers made their boats available to under-30 sailors from other classes as well as their own fleet.
The combination of Harmon Murtagh's boat and the genetic McMahon expertise resulted in pretty much of a clean sweep, with Ciara winning four of the seven races and finishing on 10 points after discard.
Liam Sweeney did more than get a bit of a look in, winning Races Four and Six to take second overall on 25 points, while Matthew Turner and Ben McMullin tied on 29 points for third and fourth respectively.
The inaugural championship attracted 24 entries.
