The 2026 Squib East Coast Championship concluded ashore on Sunday after strong winds forced the abandonment of the final day's racing at the Royal Irish Yacht Club.
The decision mirrored that taken earlier for the Grant Thornton ILCA Irish National Championships on Dublin Bay, where deteriorating conditions also prevented racing.
With no further races possible, Saturday's standings became final, confirming Sean Murphy and Paul Murphy's Crackers as East Coast champions following a consistent series.
Crackers built its victory on scores of 2, 2 and 1, edging out Rob Stanley's Durt, whose race win demonstrated front-running pace but whose inconsistency ultimately proved costly. David Tabb's Allegro completed the podium after recovering from an eighth place in the second race with victory in the opening contest and second in the finale.
Despite the curtailed programme, competitors completed three challenging races in fresh and shifting conditions on Saturday, providing a worthy championship in testing Dublin Bay conditions.
The championship concluded with the prizegiving at the Royal Irish Yacht Club, where the East Coast Championship trophies were presented after racing was officially abandoned.
