The AIB DBSC Water Wag race on Wednesday May 20th saw 26 boats launching in a Westerly wind of 9-12 knots. Prior to the start, 3 boats headed ashore with various issues.
All the Water Wag divisions were racing for the Buckingham cup in a handicap race with 8 staggered starts over a 5 minute and 15 second period. Race Officer Tadgh Donnelly aboard DBSC committee boat Corinthian set a 3-round windward/leeward course.
The race was won by no. 6, Mary Kate, sailed by Mike and Ian Magowan, who started with a penalty of 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

Second was no. 30, Sara, sailed by Paul Smith and Vanessa Greenwood who started with a penalty of 45 second.
Third place went to no. 52, Puffin, sailed by Seán and Heather Craig, having clawed their way up the fleet having started with a penalty of 5 minutes and 15 seconds.
