A good mix of cruiser racers – from 18 to 40 feet – and a late breeze got Cove Sailing Club's Titanic Race in Cork Harbour off to a prompt start on Friday evening (August 16th).

Under Race Officers Dom Losty and Eoin O'Connell, the annual fixture started off No. 11 buoy, and the 21-boat fleet was given a beat past Cobh to No. 15 off Whitepoint.

The ECHO handicap race was won by Jack Young's Albin Express North Star from Jimmy Nyhan's Outrigger prototype Hunter sportsboat. Third was Ronan Twomey's Beenteau 40.7, Rosmarina.

As Afloat reported earlier, the race precedes this weekend's Cobh People's Regatta.
