The Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association may be location-identified with Poolbeg Y&BC in Dublin Port, but as it's the only OGA branch in Ireland, it gets about for its off-season meetings. A convivial shared expedition last year to Kinsale has been matched this year with Crosshaven and Cork Harbour the focus.
With much for interest and enjoyment in the historic Cork Harbour boat tour to places where gaff rig would have been the norm until recently, the mood was good, and €500 was raised for the Crosshaven RNLI Lifeboat. This resulted in an in-house presentation, as the DBOGA's formerly Dublin-based Darryl Hughes is now so Cork-centric that he is one of the Launching Authorities for Crosshaven Lifeboat.
