It could be argued that some of the sailing of the Old Gaffers Association is the nautical equivalent of the Slow Food Movement, but there's no doubting the accelerating countdown towards the annual Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association Regatta at Poolbeg Y&BC in eleven days (see Afloat.ie 11th May).
A unique interaction between city and sea, it offers greater boat and rig variety than anything else on the East Coast. And even if your boat is bermudan rig, you're welcome if your heart is in a gaff-rigged place.
