In a strong showing for J boats, three separate designs were the winners in IRC Zero, One, and Two in the first race of the 2025 AIB DBSC Summer racing on Dublin Bay.
A great Cruisers One 11-boat turnout saw Brian Hall's J109 Something Else of the National Yacht Club take a solid race victory.
Southeast winds with up to 20 knot gusts provided brisk conditions for the club's first Thursday night race. Earlier this week, Tuesday's racing was cancelled due to strong winds, and Wednesday's Water Wag racing was halted due to a lack of wind.
Hall won by a margin of over a minute on corrected time from Richard Goodbody's sistership, White Mischief, from the Royal Irish. Third was Colin Byrne's Bon Exemple, also from the RIYC.
Royal St. George's Chris Power Smith on the helm of his J122 Aurelia was the winner by 32 seconds on corrected time of a four-boat race in IRC Zero division from Paul O'Higgins' JPK 10.80 Rockabill VI of the Royal Irish.
Lindsay Casey's IRC Two dominance in the J97 Windjammer from the RStGYC continues this season, winning by over three minutes from Paul Keelan's Hazy Blue HB31 of the RIYC. Four competed.
