Richard Goodbody's J109 White Mischief from the Royal Irish Yacht Club was the IRC One winner of Saturday's (August 2nd) race of the AIB DBSC Summer Series.
There were south-easterly winds from ten to 12 knots and the start of a flood tide on Dublin Bay for the racing in 21 classes for cruisers, one-design keelboats and dinghies.
In a sub-two-hour race, under Race Officer Barry MacNeaney, Goodbody's White Mischief (1:48:48 corr) had over a minute on Brian Hall's sistership Something Else (1:49:54 corr) from the National Yacht Club. Third was Anthony Fox's A35 Gringo with a 1:56:11 corrected time. Seven competed.
Overall, after 15 races sailed, Goodbody leads by three points from Hall.
In the IRC Two division, Lindsay Casey's J97 Windjammer (1:38:26 corr) won from July's Sailor of the Month (Services to Sailing), Ian Bowring's Springer (1:43:18 corr). Two competed.
Gerry Costello's Pamafe won from Wyn McCormack's Wynward in the Cruisers Three ECHO division. Sarah Barry's Black Sheep was third. Four competed.
Johnny Phillips' Elan 333 Playtime won the Cruisers 5a (ECHO) race. Charles Broadhead's Persistence was second, and PJ Timmins' Misfits was third. Three competed.
Oola was the winner of the Dublin Bay 21 race from Estelle. Third was Gerladine in the five-boat race.
Four competitors in the SB20 class, including national champion Michael O'Connor sailing Ted, won both races 26 and 27, bringing his total to 16 wins and an overall lead of 16 points.
In the two Flying Fifteen races, Keith Poole won the first and Alan Green the second.
