Howth Yacht Club has added a J122 to its offshore fleet with the arrival of the former Jelly Baby at the North Dublin Marina.
Afloat understands that new owner Bob Rendell will be changing the name of the boat that will be campaigned offshore in 2026, ISORA, and the Dublin regatta circuit.
As regular readers know, this J122 first came to Ireland as Kaya under Frank Whelan's ownership in 2021 before heading to Brian Jones at Royal Cork Yacht Club.
You can mention that there is a rumour of another very competitive 40 foot plus Class 0 boat coming to East coast as well to swell the present big boat fleet.
Afloat reported back in June that the Irish Sea J122 fleet was set to gain a new addition, where she will confront sisterships Aurelia of the Royal St George Yacht Club and the Pwllheli-based Mojito.
As regular Afloat readers know, the Jones family' achieved some notable successes last season, including a double win at Cowes Week, securing victory in IRC Class 2. They also finished third overall and were recognised as the best newcomers. The boat's success included winning the first race and securing two more "bullets" (first-place finishes) during the week.
Another 40-footer for Dublin?
Meanwhile, the Dublin cruiser-racer rumour mill is of another 'very competitive' 40-foot-plus Class Zero boat coming to the east coast to swell the capital's big boat fleet.
