The Bertolleti Trophy Race at Kinsale YC on Friday night, raced in memory of the legendary Club Steward, was won by Stephen Lysaght’s Elan 333 Reavra Too in a corrected time of 48 minutes and 59 seconds under ECHO handicap.
Second was Peadar Murphy’s 1720, ‘1601’ in 47 minutes and 47 seconds and third David Riome; Sigma 33 Valfreya completing the course in 53 minutes and 51 seconds. Thirteen boats raced.
SPALPEEN RACE
The annual Spalpeen Race, sailed each year in memory of club member Billy Draper, has been scheduled for Friday, August 21, with a First Gun at 1825.
After the race there is a fundraising event for the RNLI which raised over €7,500 last year for the lifeboats.
