Creme de la Creme emerged as the standout performer as Kinsale Yacht Club's Denis & Mary Ryan Car Sales TGIF Series Two concluded after five races of close cruiser racing. Sunshine and competitive sailing marked the series, with trophies decided across four divisions.
Tom Davis and the crew of Creme de la Creme recovered from missing the opening race in the 12-boat Echo 2 fleet to claim the overall title. Four strong results followed, including back-to-back race wins, a second and a third. With a discard applied, the crew secured an unassailable lead.
Patrick Beckett's Miss Charlie finished second in Echo 2, while Martin Hargrove's Deboah completed the podium. Miss Charlie also claimed victory in IRC 2, ahead of Michael Broderick's Saoirse and Padraig O'Donovan's Chameleon.
In IRC 1, Alan Mulcahy's Godot secured the title after posting three race wins during the series. John Stallard's Siboney finished second, with David Riome's Valfreya taking third.
Godot was denied a second title in Echo 1, however, as Siboney claimed the class honours with a consistent series that included victories in races three and four. Godot finished second on countback after tying on points with Peadar Murphy's 1601, which placed third.
Reflecting on the series, White Sail Class Captain Alan Mulcahy praised both the racing and the conditions. "Superb series, stunning weather," he said. "Thank you for the very generous sponsorship Denis and Mary Ryan Car Sales. Your support is hugely appreciated."
Kinsale Yacht Club's TGIF racing continues with Series Three later this season.
