Evening keelboat racing has ended at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven and entry has been opened for the Autumn League which will start on Sunday, September 29 for a series of races over five Sundays until October 27.
Last weekend the club's summer series concluded with the final races of the August/September Thursday and Friday Leagues in Cork Harbour.
In the Thursday series Ria Lyden's Ellida was the overall league winner in IRC and Echo Spinnakers, with Derry Good's Summer Light taking second place in both.
In the White Sail division, Ian Hickey and his Cavatina crew dominated in IRC, winning overall with Sean Hanley's "Luas" in second place. Paul O'Shea's Elegance was first in White sail ECHO handicap with Cavatina second.
Just a point separated the top three boats in the Friday night In-House handicap League as the final race got underway. Rear Admiral for Keelboats, Rob Foster's Clodagh, was the overall league winner after the last race, with Ronan Twomey's Rosmarina finishing second and Elegance third.
Autumn League racing will start with a First Gun at 1055 on September 29.Two races are planned for every Sunday for Spinnaker and non-Spinnaker classes, the divisions of which will depend on numbers of entries.
Online entry is on the RCYC club website. The South Coast Offshore Racing Association, SCORA, Commodore Daragh Connolly says visiting boats are welcome to take part in the Autumn League.
