AnnaMarie Fegan has stood down as Admiral of the Royal Cork Yacht Club, completing her term at the club’s AGM in Crosshaven on Monday (January 27th).
Fegan was the first woman in the club’s 300-year history to hold the position.
At the meeting, she confirmed the family’s Grand Soleil 40, Nieulargo, is for sale and that she has purchased an Oyster 53 in Palma, which will undergo a full refit before it begins a new family cruising adventure.
Fegan passed the baton to incoming Admiral Denis Byrne, the current Commodore of the Irish Cruiser Racing Association (ICRA).

Byrne praised volunteers for their service. “I commend you for having the courage to step forward and embrace the challenge,” he said.
Calling his election a “massive honour”, Byrne reflected on his early days with the club.
“In my wildest dreams, I never imagined I would be here this evening,” he said.
He thanked members for their continued support.
