While sailors at home in Ireland basked in the heat of high summer, in mid-August away to the north at highly scenic Hangko in Norway, the weather was sometimes decidedly rugged for the international fleet of 42 Classic Half Tonners contesting their unofficial “worlds”. And where there might have been two or three Irish boats contesting in times past, John Swan of Howth and his team with the Rob Humphreys-designed Harmony were the only ones flying the flag, yett they did well to take the bronze in some ferocious competition.
Ironically, the winning Hawaii/California crew in 2Farr were still racing with the IRL sail number that came with the boat when they acquired her from Half Ton Central at Rush SC.
