Belfast Harbour Marina has reopened following a refurbishment that has increased capacity and upgraded facilities. The marina, located between Titanic Belfast and the SSE Arena, now offers 67 berths, up from 60, after pontoon extensions increased total length to over 807 metres.

Each berth is equipped with water and pay-as-you-go electricity, supporting a range of visiting and resident vessels. Infrastructure upgrades include the addition of restraint piles and the extension of Pontoon D. These changes have restored 12 berths previously restricted during winter and adverse weather.

The redevelopment follows sustained growth in demand for leisure berthing over the past two decades.

Earlier expansions in 2009 and 2019 supported major events, including Tall Ships visits. The latest works are aimed at meeting seasonal demand from both long-term berth holders and visiting yachts.

The marina accommodates vessels up to 25 metres in length, with a maximum draught of 3.7 metres. Onshore facilities include showers, a kitchen and laundry amenities, alongside free Wi-Fi for berth holders. The site achieved Blue Flag accreditation in 2025, recognising high environmental and operational standards.

Marina Manager Duncan Paterson said demand remains strong. “Ultimately, this isn’t just about berths, it’s about enhancing the waterfront,” he said. He added that the marina plays a role in attracting visitors and supporting local businesses, with the potential to boost tourism and employment.
