0Killybegs in County Donegal is set for a busy cruise liner season with 24 passenger ships scheduled to visit this summer. Sinbad Marine Services reported that as many as 20,000 passengers and 10,000 crew members are expected.

Killybegs, known as Ireland's largest fishing port, is now the third busiest cruise ship berth in the Republic. The port offers easy access to landmarks such as the Slieve League Cliffs and Donegal Castle.

Julie Parkinson, director of Sinbad Marine Services, stated, "Hosting eleven new ships this year is incredibly exciting." She highlighted the collaborative efforts that contributed to Killybegs’ reputation as a thriving cruise port.

Notably, the Nieuw Statendam will arrive on 30th July, making history as the longest ship ever to berth at Killybegs, measuring 297 metres.

The cruise season starts on 16th May, promising a vibrant atmosphere in Killybegs this summer.
