A lifeguard from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council on Dublin Bay swam out to assist boaters after their small angling boat went aground on rocks near Sandycove Beach on Tuesday afternoon (August 19th).
The lifeguard helped the three boaters climb over the rocks to safety at the Sea Gardens at Otranto Park while Dun Laoghaire's RNLI Inshore lifeboat and Coastguard units also attended.
Conditions had changed since the weekend's calm, with 15 mph onshore easterly winds making the sea choppy throughout Tuesday. The boat was later removed from the rocks in the evening.
