Lifeforce, an exhibition by artist Kathrine Geoghegan, opens on 8th May 2025 at the United Arts Club in Dublin. The exhibition showcases the journey of the River Liffey from its source in the Wicklow uplands to Dublin Bay.

Geoghegan’s work highlights various habitats along the river's 130-kilometre course. Visitors will see depictions of peatlands, wildflower meadows, and tidal influences. The exhibition aims to celebrate the ecological significance of the Liffey.

The opening reception will feature guest speaker Eanna ni Lamhna. Ni Lamhna, a biologist and broadcaster, is known for her work on biodiversity. She was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Galway.

The exhibition runs until 1st June 2025. Admission is free. For more information, visit the United Arts Club’s website or contact [email protected] directly.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
