This seems astonishing and hard to believe, that when Ireland has the largest fishing waters of all Member States in the European Union, it has not got a single full member amongst the 27 appointed to the new European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries at a time when the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) will be amongst the main tasks for the new European Parliament's Committee.
The Fisheries Committee (known as PECH) is one of the few to lose seats in the new legislature, dropping from 28 to 27 members.
