A sunken vessel has prompted the creation of a 10-metre exclusion zone at Oban Railway Pier, near the Oban Ferry Terminal in Scotland.
The vessel Azalea sank while moored outside the fishing boat Silver Dawn, which remains berthed at the pier.
Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) issued the Notice to Mariners on 1 January, stating: “Mariners are advised that the vessel Azalea has sunk whilst moored in Oban. It is currently berthed outside of the vessel Silver Dawn”.
All vessels navigating near Railway Pier are requested to proceed with caution and reduce speed to minimise wash.
The exclusion zone will remain in place until Azalea is re-floated. CMAL advises checking the current Notice to Mariners status at cmassets.co.uk
to confirm if it remains active.
