MDL Marinas has confirmed £6.35 million of investment across its UK marina network during the 2025/26 berthing season.

The spend reinforces the company’s long-term strategy to upgrade facilities, infrastructure and services nationwide.

Between April and October, MDL invested £4.38 million. A further £1.97 million is committed for completion by the end of the year.

The works form part of MDL’s wider £40 million, five-year investment programme.

Investment this season covers customer facilities, operational equipment, pontoons, quay walls, dredging, sustainability and technology.

Berth holder facilities

£341,906 has been allocated to refurbishments, including major upgrades at Hamble Point Marina.

Dredging

£174,482 has been spent, with £822,620 committed, supporting safe navigation and reliable access across several marinas.

Operational equipment

£187,309 has been spent, with £57,401 committed. Projects include dry stack improvements, fuel facilities at Sparkes Marina, and equipment upgrades at Hamble Point, Saxon Wharf and Penton Hook.

Infrastructure upgrades

£805,878 has been invested, with £186,994 committed. Works include marina office developments, roof repairs and access improvements at sites from Hayling Island to Plymouth and Windsor.

Pontoons and quay walls

£2.06 million has been spent, with £398,965 committed. Pontoon replacement and re-decking has taken place at multiple marinas, alongside quay wall reconstruction at Sparkes Marina.

Further pontoon works and new fuel facilities are planned at Penton Hook, Hamble Point, Mercury, Northney and Queen Anne’s Battery.

Sustainability

£52,303 has been spent, with £86,653 committed. This includes a 1,018 kWp solar installation at Queen Anne’s Battery and further photovoltaic projects at Saxon Wharf.

Technology

£163,753 has been invested, with £47,507 committed, focusing on improved WiFi and customer connectivity across the network.

Tim Mayer, Sales and Marketing Director at MDL Marinas, said: “Our priority is to keep investing in the areas that matter most to our berth holders and tenants.”

“These are practical upgrades that enhance the day-to-day experience across the whole network,” he added.

MDL says further projects are planned as the next phase of the investment strategy progresses.
